About me
Though I have been a music educator for over 34 years, my heart belonged to music from my earliest memory when my Mother purchased a portable record player for my first Christmas and I began to sing along with Nursery Rhymes and walk round and round the player as it spun.
Beginning piano at age 5, I took lessons for 12 years from two wonderful teachers who trained me in both classical style music and popular playing. I began teaching lessons in my early twenties and, after graduating from the University of Memphis with a degree in Music Education and Voice, along with my Orff certifications, I became an elementary and middle school music educator.
Today, I am still teaching elementary music while also working along side the music educators in the school system in my county to help them as they strive to be their best in all they do each day. I teach piano and voice weekly in private lessons, also.
My belief is that all children have music in their souls and that it is naturally a part of their being. Some children have a deeper wish to put that music into their lives and the teacher’s job is to nurture that spirit. My job as a teacher and educator is to find the best way to instill in my students the technique, theory and performance skills that will help them learn while bringing out the joy and beauty of the music so that it is FUN!

Why Majesticon Music?
This site is created because, while there are many great sites available for teacher to find music and resources, as a current teacher, I have found that my students often want music they can play at their level that is not BOOK music. I could not find a lot of music that was at their level, so I began to write my own and, also, arrange songs they recognized and found that my students love it and asked for more.
As my repertoire increased, I wanted to share it with other teachers who may find they need the same thing! This site focuses on Beginner and Intermediate music that is for children and adults to learn. My hope is that you will find the music here brings joy and fun to your students while continuing to teach. You will find that even in the easiest music, I have added at least one “challenge” spot where they may have to work a bit harder to learn. This is intentional. Challenge creates growth which gives pride and instills a sense of accomplishment.
So come join the Majesticon family where “Musicians Come to Play!”
